    The Data Integration and Reporting Manager provides support to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) program. This position works closely with the Project Leadership, Information Technology (IT), Sample Unit Coordination (SUC), Medical Review (MR), and Data Processing (DP) Review, and Medical Record Requests (MRR) teams. The Data Integration and Reporting Manager provides oversight and support of daily functions for the Project Data Integration and Reporting team.

    The Data Integration and Reporting team provides data maintenance and mapping services, and is responsible for developing standard and ad hoc reporting used for data analytics in support of all Operational and Project needs. The team is tasked to develop and improve all standard operational analysis tools and to design, compile and deliver Executive dashboard reports required to support daily operations. The team uses data and information to drive initiatives enabling continuous improvement, increased efficiency and enhanced optics into trends, gaps and areas of needed improvement.


    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    Assists in designing, mapping and maintaining the database collection system, data informatics and other tasks that optimize efficiency and quality through the Enterprise Data Warehouse, including data loading, maintenance processes, and data dictionary development.


    Participates in the data ingestion processes to assure data integrity, quality and validation.


    Collaborates with and leads analytics team members participating in day-to-day operational activities.


    Mentors and oversees the activities of Informatics Data Analysts.


    Collaborates with management to prioritize client business and information needs.


    Identifies errors in data and takes measures to resolve errors in a timely manner.


    Participates in building and operationalizing processes that ensure timely data-loading and maintains accuracy and relevance of data used.


    Promote project team’s interest in maximizing the receipt of consistent, quality, and accurate data from contractors and other source systems.


    Maintains a positive working relationship with all data supplying entities, including states, contractors and vendors.


    Incorporates internal and external feedback and experience into solutions to foster continuous reporting improvements.


    Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with both internal and external customers by ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data-related deliverables.


    Supports and executes change management activities regarding data input, ensuring constant compliance with established standards and affecting change where warranted.


    Escalates and prioritizes issues, as needed, to the Leadership team for analysis and resolution.


    Participates in the professional performance planning process with Leadership including metrics, education, enhancement of tools and professional growth.


    Responsible for timely and appropriate communications through e-mail, meeting documentation, and verbal / written correspondence.


    Develops report specifications, requests, and documentation processes.


    Mentors and manages Data Analysis staff to ensure reporting is timely, accurate and performed as scheduled.


    Performs other responsibilities, special assignments or projects as directed, including service on task forces and committees.


    Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.


    Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. 


    Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers.  Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources.  Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.



    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Five years’ experience in managing informatics tools or other equivalent analytics tools required. Five years’ of experience in healthcare, including extensive use of healthcare data in reporting and analytics. Experience in a document management system (DMS), such as Compliance 360, GRC Cloud, Velocity EHS, or Paradigm 3 preferred. Experience leading training sessions/classes (on-site, WebEx, etc.) and producing training-related material. Project Management experience is preferred, including familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean concepts. Experience developing junior staff and leading other personnel effectively. Ability to travel to Rockville, MD as needed.



    Must be able to obtain government security clearance

    U.S. Citizens / Green Card only due to government or federal requirement

    SAS/SQL certification is preferred, but not required.



    Extensive knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, and all related data components such as Provider Data, NPI, Form Types, CPT, ICD, HCPCS, Revenue Coding, Eligibility, Fee Schedules, Pend and Error explanation coding concepts

    Fluency in essential Informatics tools such as: SQL, Tableau, SSAS, SRS, Hadoop; ETL, SSRS and SSIS tools for data extract and routine report scheduling

    Advanced Microsoft Office skills, primarily in MS Excel, including extensive use of pivot tables and export to visualization tools

    Working knowledge of information care and analytics principles, HIPPA Compliance Rules and proper security protocols

    Technical knowledge regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

    Thorough understanding of integration between applications

    Ability to learn new skills and apply them immediately

    Strong analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to produce results with minimal supervision

    Strong critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills

    Effective time management skills, including the ability to work effectively on multiple projects at the same time

    Ability to adapt to changing priorities as needed to complete all assigned tasks in accordance with established deadlines

    Ability to collaborate effectively with technical resources (e.g. system administrators, database administrators, and data analysts)

    Ability to understand and interpret technical concepts

    Experience working under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

    Exceptional attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.


    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.



    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages, and to draw and interpret bar graphs, pie charts, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.



    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
