In order to comply with Section 508 of the National Rehabilitation Act, the IRS must ensure that disabled employees and members of the public have access to information that is comparable to the access which is available to others. The Business Analyst supports these efforts by serving as a source of subject matter expertise, conducting assessments, implementing testing processes, providing remediation recommendations, and conducting contract requisition reviews.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzes the business processes, procedures, organizational structure, etc. in order to identify problems and determine solutions that reduce risk and increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Interacts with the business partners and internal and external stakeholders, including executive staff, to understand organizational processes and needs.
Performs detailed gap analysis to identify gaps between system functionality and organizational needs and document findings
Works with stakeholders to identify project scope, project objectives, project success criteria and project deliverables
Collaborates with project stakeholders and technical staff to elicit and document requirements (e.g. business, functional, non-functional, process models, etc.)
Works with stakeholders to define and create detailed project plans from concept through implementation.
Assists in the creation of test cases to verify the system and validate the system and processes are functioning as expected.
Performs Software Development Life Cycle/Enterprise Life Cycle activities.
Ability to independently manage a project from start to finish.
Recommends Section 508 remediation solutions / improvements related to service offerings, processes and artifacts. Provides support to ensure compliance with all required government standards.
Conducts in-depth review and assessment of remediation efforts and technical documentation. Identifies any areas of noncompliance, as well as areas requiring modifications / improvements (e.g., user manuals, computer operator handbooks, technical reference materials, etc.).
Prepares reports as directed by Section 508 Program Office.
Stays current as to the Section 508 Refresh revisions.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field of study and a minimum of Five (5) years relative analyst experience; or equivalent combination of education / experience.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
Ability to obtain government security clearance
U.S. Citizens / Green Card Holders only due to government or federal requirement
