    The Senior Superintendent provides supervision over assigned projects and promotes high standards of workmanship performed by subcontractors for the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant IDIQ Contract, owned by Chickasaw Nation Industries.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    Serves as a source of expertise and performs necessary research to produce accurate, complete and competitive estimates.

     

    Coordinates estimate reviews with the appropriate project team members to ensure completeness, accuracy and compatibility.

     

    Assists project management and other departments in working through complicated processes and procedures.   

     

    Conducts daily site visits to ensure proper work completion and standards are being met.

     

    Oversees project technical activity related to fieldwork. Leads a project team or participates as a project team member, depending on the job size and complexity.

     

    Becomes thoroughly familiar with the plans, specifications, daily correspondence, shop drawings and all documents related to projects.

     

    Works with Project Scheduler to prepare project schedules.

     

    Supervises and inspects the work of subcontractors. Oversees subcontracted workforce to ensure safe, efficient, economical and timely completion of work. Instructs subcontractors in job direction and company policies.  Ensures construction conforms to contract requirements. Emphasizes high quality standards that promote customer satisfaction. 

     

    Responsible for worksite adherence to all safety standards. Understands and enforces company safety policies and procedures. Organizes safety meetings with employees and supervisors. Practices, instructs and enforces all OSHA safety requirements / guidelines. 

     

    Conducts meetings with subordinates, subcontractors and others, as appropriate, to share information and to coordinate / direct work.

     

    Travels to remote job locations, as needed.

     

    Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

     

    Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

     

    Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

     

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field of study and/or a minimum of seven (7) years relevant construction experience, supervisory management and or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or certification and experience.

     

    CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

    Recognized certification such as USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification or PMP Certification is helpful but not required

     

    JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

    Working knowledge of project supervising with an acceptable degree of construction knowledge

    Demonstrated knowledge in industrial safety and OSHA regulations with ability to develop and implement safety plans / measures

    Skilled proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook) 

    Skilled in facilitating teamwork and coordinating efforts for the successful achievement of goals

    Excellent supervisory and management skills with ability to resolve conflicts, grievances, confrontations or disagreements in a constructive manner

    Ability to read and comprehend blueprints

    Solid customer service skills with ability to develop professional relationships

    Excellent organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines

    Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, critical thinking and financial management skills

    Strong decision-making and problem solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment

    Ability to work both independently and lead a team

    Willing and able to travel according to project site needs concurrently

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
